UniCredit is seeking an Engineer/Data Center manager to join the Group Real Estate Data Centers team. In this role, you will provide support and expertise for data centers standard design and management with the goal of deploying policy at scale in a global environment. Particular attention will be required to monitor and report the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data centers.

What you’ll be doing

The experience we offer to you:

  • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment including electrical support equipment such as stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, and wet cell batteries and associated systems
  • mechanical equipment includes CRAHU units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers/water chemical system, air handlers and associated systems, pumps and motors
  • additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role which includes fire suppression systems, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment
  • Key task and responsibility:
  • Provide technical support to implement relevant policies and procedures for the Data Center, whilst seeking means of continual improvement
  • Ensure that operational procedures and working practices are fit for purpose and current.
  • Oversee all aspects of the data center's critical physical infrastructure. Ensure that all activities work performed without impact to internal/external customers
  • Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in all facets of their career
  • Engage in improvement projects and drive them from conception to completion
  • Coordinates daily with third party vendors ensuring adherence to contracted SLAs
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures
  • Routinely operate as the afterhours on-call Data Center Facility Manager for the data centers in the region. This will include responding to any issues within the data centers and managing the investigation, mitigation, and recovery of the issue(s)

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 2-5 years’ experience within a critical infrastructure environment (up 1.000sqm)
  • Excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAHU units
  • English fluency both spoken and written
  • Communication skills; ability to produce concise reports on data center operations
  • Availability to work non-standard work hours as needed including working weekends, holidays and shift-based schedules
  • Experience providing solutions to complex problems under pressure
  • Experience in cross functional, collaborative environments
