Who You Are

We're looking for a Software System Engineer to strengthen our team onsite at EUMETSAT providing top-notch services.

The successful candidate will be a member of a team that ensures day to day operations and maintenance of the various data processing systems, handling of anomalies, upgrades in the area, and configuration changes for off-line systems.

What You Will Focus on

• Data Processing Software Systems development, maintenance, and operations support
• Contribute to the Configuration Management process and the building and distribution of the software releases
• Within a formal configuration-controlled development environment, investigate, document, fix, and resolve system anomalies.
• Attendance at technical meetings and formal reviews like checkpoint meetings, PDR, CDR, acceptance reviews, TRRs and TRBs
• Coordination/inputs to system release planning and preparation, including new/upgraded components
• Maintain the status of actions assigned via internal issue tracking tools or ticketing system like JIRA

What You Bring

• Solid software maintenance and software development experience
• Experience on C++ and Java troubleshooting
• Software maintenance or development, formal software testing, and system integration.
• Excellent technical writing skills used in formal technical documentation (e.g. requirements specification and design documentation, test plans and procedures, maintenance procedures)
• Source code management systems (for example, Subversion and Git);
• Analysis, debugging, profiling, fixing, and processing of software flaws
• Programming and scripting languages (C++, JAVA)
