KYOCERA AVX Components (Munich) GmbH is looking for a Global IT Virtualization Engineer (m/f/d) in Werne.

As Global IT Virtualization Engineer you will be a member of the Global IT Operations Team and report directly to the regional IT Operations Manager. In this role, you will be responsible to design, renew and keep the virtualization on the latest state.

Responsibilities

• Desing and work on a Global VMware Strategy
• Performance and capacity management projects
• Plan and engineer upgrades and expansion of the current VMware Infrastructure
• Migration from Hyper-V to VMware
• Deploy and test HA/DR virtual environments
• Provide guidance for virtualization best practices
• Design enterprise level virtualization technologies
• Provide virtual platform system technical performance and availability recommendations
• Create documentation for best practices in deploying VMware solutions
• Participate in the design with the IT Server and Data Center Engineers of all backend infrastructure components for the virtual environment

Requirements

• Knowledge of ITIL Service Management and process execution with equivalent work experience
• Experience with VMware vCenter design and implementation best practices
• Understanding of Windows operating systems
• Ability to troubleshoot Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) attached to VMware environments
• Experience with building and maintaining high-availability VMware environments
• Extensive virtualization experience – design, implement and manage virtual environments, including data center cluster(s) managed by vCenter
• Knowledge of virtualization and consolidation of server technologies, specifically VMware vSphere and ESXi Virtual Infrastructure
• Thorough knowledge of Active Directory and deep understanding of high availability
• Good German skills, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel 10%
