Algorithms Engineer IoT (m/f/d)

THE TEAM AND ITS MISSION

We are a cross-functional team developing an ultra-wideband (UWB) based Local Positioning System (LPS) to enable our advanced player and ball tracking solutions. To capture and provide precise position and motion data in the sports environment, we are developing a full-stack of software components including firmware, backend and frontend applications. Joining our team, you will optimize existing algorithms for position tracking, but also create completely new KINEXON products in collaboration with your colleagues from other software and hardware departments.

OUR TECH STACK

For prototyping, designing, and analyzing our position estimation algorithms we use MATLAB as a fundamental tool. The algorithms are integrated into a C++ backend for performance reasons. Besides C++, we use a much more diverse tech stack in our backend, incorporating Golang, Python, Rust, and Java- & TypeScript. For managing the deployment of our distributed system as well as aiding our development needs, we make use of a dockerized workflow.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Algorithms Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the algorithms that transform raw sensor timestamps into position, velocity and orientation of a moving player, ball, etc. We will trust you to grow into a consultant role with an in-depth understanding of our entire vertical product portfolio and the technologies we use. Together with the team, you will primarily face the following challenges:

• State observer and Kalman Filter
• Optimization problem(s)
• Advanced positioning algorithms
• Clock synchronization
• Cross-disciplinary and complex problem(s)
• Continuous integration + full system testing

YOUR PROFILE

• Good knowledge of working and coding with MATLAB and object-oriented programming in C++
• Practical experience in filter design for state estimation, including variations of Kalman and/or particle filters
• Advanced mathematical knowledge in statistics, numeric, and optimization
• Fluency in English or German
• You are a reliable team player willing to take on responsibility and move the team forward with your own solutions
